Six Qualities of a Successful Weight Loss Program:

1.Educational-  Education is empowerment, and when you are empowered you are always in control.  Knowing the RIGHT actions to take is more than half the battle of successful weight loss.

2. Multi-dimensional- It takes more than just consistent exercise to lose weight.  It also takes more than a good "diet" or a healthy mindset to lose weight. A successful weight loss program combines ALL of these components, and others, to yield maximal results.

3.Realistic-What's the point of losing weight, to gain it back in a few months?  None.  The reason that so many people yo-yo back and forth with their weight is because they do not use realistic means to accomplish their goals.  For example, it is not realistic that you can live your life, in a healthy manner, without any carbs. It's not realistic that you will stay on a "diet" forever. And if you can't see yourself living a certain way for the rest of your life, what's the point?

4.Challenging- If losing weight was easy, everyone would be slim and in good shape.  Like anything worthwhile, you have to "pay your dues" in order to reap the rewards.  Typically, one does not get "something" for "nothing".  Therefore, if you want incredible results you have to PUSH yourself beyond your comfort zone.

5.Fun (or at Least Semi-Enjoyable). Its human nature to seek pleasure and avoid pain.  Perhaps ths is why exercise is not the activity of choice for most. However, in order to stay consistent with your exercise program you must choose activites that you enjoy, or at least not hate.  If you dread going to the gym, then chances are you probably won't go.  If you hate running, don't run. If you love to dance, then choose dance as your mode of exercise.  The bottom line is, find something that you can at least tolerate, and then do it consistently.

6. Supportive-Losing weight alone and without some degree of support is difficult.  Its a much better experience to have people surrounding you who you can share your experience, and offer a hand to hold when you are at the end of your rope. This is why those who hire trainers, fitness coaches, and/or participate in group weight loss programs do better than those who "go it alone".  Regardless of the method you use to attain your weight loss goals, make sure that there is a support network available for you when you need it.
